A small gymnastics festival to mark the end of the year

Jun 20, 2023

Anyone who thought a few years ago that the gymnastics department of TSV/DJK wiesentheid would become extinct was now taught better in the sports hall of the nikolaus fey school.

More than 20 enthusiastic gymnasts between the ages of three and twelve, together with their coaches lore ragati, reinhilde schmidl, anna heer and annette spath, invited everyone to the christmas gymnastics event and demonstrated their skills on various apparatus in a one-hour program.

The youngest athletes started off. Proudly demonstrated basic exercises in body tension, balance and coordination. In the further course of the program, training excerpts followed on beam, parallel bars and floor.

Astonished and enthusiastic faces, as well as respectful applause were the expression of the audience to the performances of the somewhat older female athletes. Alone or in small groups they thrilled the audience, among them mayor werner knaier and the deputy chairman of the association gunter rehberger, with challenging gymnastics on the apparatuses.

It became clear that afternoon, with how much ambition, motivation and joy the children showed their skills under the guidance of their trainers, it is communicated.

The uncomplicated and profitable cooperation of the various clubs in wiesentheid was also evident. Petra hergeth, the leader of the children’s choir of the wiesentheid music association, agreed to provide musical support for the christmas gymnastics program. With a small group of her children’s choir, she created a christmas atmosphere and invited the audience to sing along at the end of the program.

For the coming year, the gymnasts and their coaches have resolved to continue to beat the advertising drum in order to gain sponsors, because new equipment is urgently needed. The youngsters would also be very happy to have a uniform for the competitions.
